‘CLICK’ to watch our SUPER BOWL SUNDAY RECYCLING TIPS

In anticipation of Super Bowl Sunday, Kent County is reminding you about common waste materials generated at special events that can and cannot be recycled. Specifically, PIZZA BOXES, RED ‘SOLO’ CUPS and SINGLE-SERVE BOTTLES. Check out our second video in the “Recycle Right” campaign.
Did you know that the National Football League has been working to scale back its carbon footprint for 23 years? Since Super Bowl XXVIII in Atlanta, the event’s environmental initiative has recovered 155 tons of trash that otherwise would have ended up in a landfill. By reducing waste before it’s created, instituting comprehensive recycling and composting programs and taking advantage of alternative renewable energy (Waste to Energy) opportunities, they’ve been able to significantly reduce the footprint this massive event creates. We can all do our part, even from the comfort of our living rooms.
