Partially-used candles can become new candles again when you melt them over the stove and pour the wax into new (or old) candle jars with a new wick.

Non-food or beverage grade glass, like glass candle jars, are not recyclable in curbside recycling. This is because the temperature to melt and process food and beverage glass is much lower than other grades of glass (think candle jars, baking ware, windows, etc.) so our glass processor would have some globs of unmelted glass mixed in with melted glass beverage bottles and jam or pickle jars.

The best way for candle jars to avoid the landfill is to find a reuse for them! Store food or craft supplies in them, refill them with wax or purchase a candle insert, make them into a plan terrarium… the possibilities are endless.
