Kent County urges U.S. Senate to support recycling

On Monday, May 13, Kent County Department of Public Works Director Dar Baas traveled to Washington DC to speak to the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Staff about the current crisis impacting recycling markets. Director Baas provided information on how Kent County is working to maintain and improve its current recycling program, and actions Congress can take to help support future and expanded recycling in Kent County.

Locally, you can support recycling by encouraging your friends, family and neighbors to either keep recycling or start recycling! We can’t build markets and a domestic infrastructure for recycling if we don’t have recyclables to work with! Recycle on!
