What’s next for the Sustainable Business Park planning process?

We are pleased to report that the Kent Count Board of Public Works approved the Master Plan for the Sustainable Business Park at their October 4 meeting.

A key component of the Master Plan was garnering wide community involvement, including hosting six meetings almost a year ago with stakeholders, community groups and individual members of the community to better understand thoughts and recommendations for the development of a Sustainable Business Park. That input was invaluable in understanding the challenges facing West Michigan as we reduce our reliance on landfilling and work toward a more sustainable future for our region.

The Master Plan process took nearly a year to develop, and we’d like to provide you with an update on progress as we continue on this zero waste to landfill journey. We’ve made great strides, but there is still work to be done. We are holding a meeting to discuss next steps as we continue to work toward our shared goals. We appreciate your input and suggestions every step of the way.

Please join us on Tuesday, November 27 at 9:00am (EST) as we review the work from the last year and look ahead to what’s next for this exciting project.
