The Kent County DPW SafeChem program is FREE to all Kent County residents for convenient disposal of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW).
- Stop by one of our five Kent County disposal sites during their designated service hours – no appointment necessary!
- We cannot accept hazardous waste generated at businesses due to EGLE/MDEQ manifesting and shipping requirements. However, please contact us for resources on how businesses, schools, or farms can dispose of hazardous waste.
- If you are resident that has a large amount (more than six moving boxes full of containers of hazardous waste or more than 20 gallons of oil, gas or antifreeze) to drop off, please send us a quick email a day before you come or give us a call at 632-7941 to make sure we know you’re coming and that we have enough equipment/space on hand to take all your hazardous waste.
- We also have periodic Saturday collections for those residents who can’t come during the week.
On Fridays we’re at the Rockford location, 2908 Ten Mile Rd., Rockford, MI 49341
